Organisations that value digital assets such as reports, images, diagrams, presentations, etc. have invested in lots of CMS and search engines to gather and make content accessible for the last 20 years.

In the age of Gen AI, a fair percentage of these content are partially generated chatting with an AI. A 6-page document could contain AI generated summaries or images for example.

Some documents are used to take critical decisions.
How can we build trust in this kind of documents if they have been partially generated by AI?
One of the key elements is to understand the goal of the authors when they decided to be helped by AI and how they used it to transform their intent into the final document.

When we use AI, we often dialog with it as we explain our needs and then ask it to refine its answers until we're satisfied. This dialog between authors and AI is a key piece to understanding which parts of the document was AI generated and why.

There are a lot of use cases where providing the the prompts should be required. An analysis report by experts with AI-generated images that illustrate their demonstration is a good example. Being open with the use of AI by providing the prompts will improve the trust in the expertise of the author and avoid any doubt on the images, photographies or diagrams that the report contains.

Another use case is in education. More and more students use AI to help them draft their documents. And most of the teachers know it now. What if providing the prompts was required and the quality of the prompt be a part of the evaluation?

We should never hide we use AI and in the long term, the dialogue between authors and AI will have more value than the document itself.

So let's follow the prompt!
